EF#7 – ta’aruf

Masjid UII looked at the small groups of veiled women who sit in the hall of the UI mosque. That groups consists of three, five, even ten people. As far as I know, they are a halaqoh group or a committee meeting. There is not seen a single man because this place is a special hall for sisters.

I averted my gaze toward a special hall for brothers. There is almost no one is sitting there. Only a handful of men who sat alone.

Then, I smiled at the two women and two men sitting in a circle in one corner of the brothers hall. Two toddlers are playing around nearby. The scenery reminded me of something. Six months ago, I was sitting in the same corner. I sit face to face with the man who makes my heart beat like mad for the first time, accompanied by a couple who have two toddlers too. That is a historic event that started my new life.

“Why are you standing here?” suddenly a handsome male is standing next to me.

“I’m waiting for you”, I replied.

“Yeah, but you can sit at the mosque. You’re pregnant now, do not be tired, dear,” he said anxiously.

Then, he took my hand and walking away from the UI mosque, where we first met.
